Final Ad Project: 1001 Inventions
Mission Statement:The human body is a marvel only surpassed by its creator. A dozen systems and trillions of cells work in perfect sync to make even the most simplest of our gestures: a smile. The body is not only advanced in its construction it is also able to repair major damage, with a little helping hand. Medical tools such as scalpels, forceps, hooked needle and cat gut are innovations created centuries ago. With a few modifications to materials these tools are still in use today. The Ultimate Survival Kit incorporates these inventions along with a few modern touches. based on the needs of the specified consumer.

An Easy Fix To a BIG Problem
This is an example of bad advertising. Everything from the dozens of mix matched fonts and randomly placed information make this ad very confusing and difficult to find the main reason for this ad.
These are a few very rough sketches. I made these just to see which layout would lend itself better to the large amount of information on the ad.
Here is the final version of the ad. In this setup The information is clear and the main point is quickly seen.

Bad Example of Product Advertisement
This advertisement is supposed to be selling a pill that makes you gain muscle mass, enhance your mood and get you better sleep. The target audience is men who are bodybuilders and compete in bodybuilding competitions because it is mentioned in the advertisement that this product is 100% legal. The client is HI-TECH Pharmaceuticals. It is not very clear what kind of advertisement this is because it is so vague, but the one that makes the most sense would be persuasive. This is because it can be assumed that if you gain muscle mass and have a better mood due to better sleep, you would get girls that potentially look like the one in the advertisement. This advertisement is unsuccessful because at first glance you cannot readily tell what the product is, whether a pill or powder. Also you cannot visually understand that it is a product that will make you gain muscle and sleep better. This advertisement would be better suited for a male enhancement product rather than a muscle building one.
Good Example of Getting Your Point Across
This is a good example of getting the idea across clearly. You can tell that they're selling diet pills and by connecting the diet pills to the machine that is making the character thin you can immediately deduce that the pills are responsible for the weight loss. The product is aimed towards women who are trying to lose weight. The client is obviously the manufacturer of the pills. It's persuasive in its strong imagery that appeals to self-conscious women.

Hey Internet! My name is Rigo, and welcome to my mind.. I mean blog! I am currently enrolled in Advertising 1 at El Camino College. I am taking this class because I have a real interest in graphic design and advertisement. Also I would love to become a graphic designer professionally. My goals for this class are to learn how to advertise successfully and get my point across clearly to prospective buyers. I know that the advertising of a product or idea is the first and most lasting impression of it to the public, so my goals also include creating advertisements that grab attention and portray the product or idea in a desirable way. On top of all of this, and most importantly, I want to have fun learning new ways to express myself through the art of design and advertising!
